Moving from a home to a new home can be a huge hassle. There are so many things you have to worry about. The biggest thing of course is packing. Just think about all of the decorations and clothes you have accumulated over the years you have lived in your home. You will now have to pack all of it and get it to your new home. To help you out, here are some tips from Steady Movers on how to make packing that much easier.

First thing you need is supplies. This includes plenty of boxes in different sizes, newspaper or tissue paper, and packing tape. Rather than just buying a little bit of each, you should really stock up on all of it. You might think you have too much tape or too many boxes, but believe us when we say that you will end up using it all. You will not realize how much stuff you really have until you start packing it. Plus, you will not want to over pack any boxes. This might cause things to break inside the box and you may not be able to lift them. You will need to make sure that you are able to move all of your boxes.

Secondly, you will want to pack like things together. Make sure to pack all shirts in the same boxes and all pots or pans in different boxes. This will make it easy to unpack everything. Once you open the box you will know exactly what is inside. Another way of doing this is by making sure to label everything. You can either write the room it will be going to or place colored stickers on the boxes. Each room should have its own color. For example, everything from the kitchen will have yellow stickers so you will know right away where to put the boxes. You will not believe how much easier this makes moving. You will barely have to think when you unload everything.

Third, for clothing, rather than using all cardboard boxes you should try utilizing all of your suitcases and duffle bags. These types of bags will keep your clothing much cleaner. If you do not have enough luggage to pack all of your clothing, you should then wrap large piles in plastic and then place it into the cardboard box for storage. Also, if you are only moving to a new place but in the same area, you can always leave clothes on the hangers. You can simply just lay them down across your pack seat or in your trunk and will not have to worry about packing the clothes and the hangers.
